"Holtzified" Hand Made Tools

I think Tim has created a monster! These are some of the tools I made for myself.

First off, I salvaged a square piece of sheet metal. Well, she's not exactly square, but that doesn't matter!  I covered the back and part of the sides with paper and then some of Tim's Humidor Washi tape to protect myself from the sharp edges.  I cut a square of my shelf liner to cover the sheet metal so I can use this as a blending station or a stenciling station.  The magnets hold really tight. I also used some silicone adhesive on the back and a couple of strips of the mat to hold it steady on my work area.  

On the top left is my hand made book binder's miter tool.  I use this to trim off corners before I fold and glue down and it works perfectly.  All of the tools were made with heavy chipboard and Tim Holtz papers from the 8x8 various paper pads.  The Miter tools was made from the Abandoned collection.  ALL were made with leftover scraps.

On the top right you will see my tag guide.  You can make your own tags just in case you run out of Tim's tags or you are lazy/busy like me and don't want to drag out the die set.  I cut examples of the varied corners that you might want to select.  I saw a maker just do the same to an old gift card and it works well.

Next, I made myself a small T ruler, one that fits in my stamping platform.  Sure, I have a plastic big one, but sometimes I want something small.

Finally, I made myself a 6-inch ruler, it has guides on both sides.  You should have seen me digging through all of my Tim Holtz paper scraps trying to find something that had 1-inch increments and I FOUND SOME! I hand marked the T-ruler and not mathematically inclined to account for the width of the pen, so I wouldn't trust it for precise measurements.

Honestly, you can just make the stuff out of chipboard and call it a day, but I wouldn't be worth my salt as a Tim Holtz super fan if I didn't "Holtzify" my makes!
