I have taken a topical approach today with my card dedicated to Juneteenth, the federal holiday in the US to commemorate the release of African American slaves which happened on June 19th, 1865.I used a mixed media technique and used an image and words from Tamara Laporte's 'Fabulous Faces' pack to create this piece.
I created the background on watercolor paper. I then changed the tones of the background using some white gesso. I decoupaged strips of sentiments torn from the sentiment sheet and then the image that comes printed on tissue paper with some Distress Collage Medium. Finally, I stenciled on the bricks with some texture paste and added the Shine sentiment.
