Mixed Media Juneteenth

 I have taken a topical approach today with my card dedicated to Juneteenth, the federal holiday in the US to commemorate the release of African American slaves which happened on June 19th, 1865.

I used a mixed media technique and used an image and words from Tamara Laporte's 'Fabulous Faces' pack to create this piece.

I created the background on watercolor paper. I then changed the tones of the background using some white gesso. I decoupaged strips of sentiments torn from the sentiment sheet and then the image that comes printed on tissue paper with some Distress Collage Medium. Finally, I stenciled on the bricks with some texture paste and added the Shine sentiment.

 It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to Pat and the rest of the design team over at Technique Junkies.  This will be my last publication.  It's time for me to move on to other adventures!
